About

Olivia Ochoa is an emerging library and information science professional. She is experienced in instruction, collection maintenance and circulation, research and reference, and working with the public. Some special projects she has worked on recently include digitizing a community history collection and hosting online book clubs for a public library.

She came to librarianship by way of theatre education and new play development. Her directing and dramaturgy work encompasses classical drama, musical theatre, and world premieres of new plays. She has served as a script reader for Cleveland Play House, The Lark, Playwrights Realm, and Bay Area Playwrights Festival. Her paper "The Divine Mr. S: David Garrick's Alterations of Shakespeare" was presented at the Texas Educational Theatre Association and Mid-America Theatre Conference, and was published in Texas Theatre Journal.

She is also a seasoned teaching artist, having taught theatre skills - from singing to Shakespeare - to students ages 5-17 in Seattle, San Antonio, and San Francisco.
